  1. What is wine?Kick off the course in wine appreciation by learning the basics about wine and where it comes from. We’ll talk about where it all started, journey into King Tutunkamuns tomb and learn about the invention of the toast. Wine is made from grapes and is as a result of alcoholic fermentation. Remember wine should be enjoyed responsibly!
  2. Bottle BasicsIn lesson 2, we will teach the basics of how to navigate a wine label. We’ll introduce the cork or cap debate and talk about sustainability in the industry and alternative packaging options.
  3. Pouring WineHave you ever wondered if the wine glass makes a difference to what you percieve? In this lesson we find out if shape and size really matters and explore the science behind it. We’ll also cover the basics of how to pour and serve wine.
  4. Time to Taste!The time has come to taste some wine! Lesson 3 will give you a step-by-step guide to setting up a tasting at home, as well as outline the process of tasting wine like a pro. We have designed a wine tasting mat that will be a helpful tool to use in the tasting process!
  5. White WineIn lesson 5, we will introduce white wine and how it is typically made. We’ll analyse colour, aroma and flavours found in white wine and look at typical examples. We have designed a flavour and aroma wheel that will guide you through practising tasting white wine.
  6. Red WineIn lesson 6, we will introduce red wine and how it is typically made. We’ll analyse colour, aroma and flavours found in red wine and look at typical examples. We have designed a flavour and aroma wheel that will guide you through practicing tasting red wine.
  7. Rosé WineIn lesson 7, we will introduce rosé wine. We’ll analyse colour, aroma and flavours found in rosé wine and look at typical examples. We have designed a flavour and aroma wheel that will guide you through practicing tasting rosé wine.
  8. Champagne ShowersIn lesson 8, we will introduce Champagne and sparkling wine. We’ll analyse colour, aroma and flavours found in champagne and sparkling wine and look at typical examples. We have designed a flavour and aroma wheel that will guide you through practicing tasting champagne and sparkling wine.
